Barbara Foster
Owner

Barbara's love of animals began as a child. Growing up her family had Pomeranians. At 6 her Christmas dream came true when she was surprised by Santa with a little kitty! She currently lives in Mooresville with her two rescue Shihtzus, Bubbie and Lucy.

Taking care of people's pets is Barbara's first love!  In addition to admin duties she fills in for sitters and registers new clients.

Amy has always loved animals so pet sitting was a natural job for her. She was a GIS programmer for Mecklenburg County before staying at home with her children and started working for Pampered Paws in 2013.  Amy currently has 1 dog and 2 cats: a lab/pit mix rescue named Sunny, and two rescue cats, Lulu and Nolan. Along with her furry family, Amy's busy household includes her husband and 3 kids. Amy is also a runner and will happily run with your dogs.

Pet Sitter

Shannon loves animals, especially dogs. She works a full time job during the week and uses pet sitting as her way to make a little money on the side and to get her dog “fix.” She has owned numerous rescue dogs and has always picked out her pets randomly based on the feeling she gets when she’s at the humane society. She doesn’t go there looking for a specific dog but rather knows what dog is meant to be hers when she sees it.

Tracy has been a pet lover all her life!  She has one solid black kitty named Luna. Tracy knows how important it is to feel your pets are being well taken care of in your absence, so it’s her pleasure to take care of them!

Meredith is the mother of 3 children, 1 girl and 2 boys. She has been in the veterinary field for over 15 years and loves animals and being their voice. Meredith is pictured with 1.5 year old Harvey.

Jenna is a student at UNCC and joined Pampered Paws in August of 2023. She has pet sat for mutual friends and loves having the opportunity to pet sit for Pampered Paws. Jenna has always loved animals since she was a little girl so this job is one that she loves doing! She has always really connected with animals and through her childhood dog, Bella, has learned so many things and is lucky to have Bella in her life.

Kathy is the mother of a 26-year-old daughter and 21-year-old son and the proud caretaker of “Red”, her son’s sweet red tick hound and her 3 adorable tabby cats: “Simba,” “Ripley” and “Mittens.” She works at a middle school as an academic facilitator.

Michelle is a retired 20-year federal employee (Drug Enforcement Administration, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) with high level security clearances.  She also worked for 10 years at a non-profit as their accountant.  Michelle resides in the town of Davidson with her husband, Frank, also retired from 34 years with the Department of Justice, and with their beloved seven month old Miniature Schnauzer, Lady.  Michelle and her husband are active in their church, St. Jude's Mission, Huntersville.  Their previous Miniature Schnauzer, Lucy, had diabetes, which required twice daily insulin shots and frequent eye drops, post cataract surgery.

Andrea has had extra-large dogs the majority of her life as well as cats the past 12yrs. She has been pet sitting for the past 4 years. Andrea has experience with dispensing medication and caring for illness. Over the years, she has had experiences with cancer, parvo, colitis, ear infections, dementia and arthritis. Most of her personal dogs and cats have been rescues. Andrea does not believe they are just pets, to her they are her babies and part of the family.

Lana is a former flight attendant who loves the outdoors and being active. She also enjoys baking and cooking. Lana has had pets all her life. When she was a child she brought home a newborn Fox Terrier which her mother made her take back. She doesn’t currently have a pet of her own so she gets her pet “fix” taking care of our clients fur babies. She’s been pet sitting for Pampered Paws since 2018 and has come to love the clients pets as if they’re her own.

Curry Vankirk has lived in Charlotte for 5 years now. She is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is a teacher in the CMS school district. She has always loved animals and grew up with all different kinds of pets, from rats and ferrets to farm animals. She started pet sitting as a second job that let’s me help other animal lovers like myself!

Peggy worked many years in the school system and church child development. Although she regularly cares for her grandchildren now that they are in school she has time to help us a lot with Pet Sitting. Mackenzie loves all animals! She has been pet sitting for almost seven years and has sat for both dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes. Mackenzie is also available for overnight stays. She has three fur babies: a Catahoula named Harley, a mini Labradoodle named Riley, and a grey tabby named Ziggy.

Crystal worked as a Vet Tech as her Pet Sitting career began. She is very comfortable administering meds and injections. She stays busy caring for clients’ dogs, cats and her own 3 children. Crystal rounds out her family with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a box turtle.

Jaquana was born and raised in Charlotte. She is currently in college going to school with the aim of obtaining a biology degree and plans to graduate in 2024 summer. She has loved animals ever since she was a little girl and would beg her mother for a dog and she finally caved in and got her first dog at 17. Jaquana enjoys working with all types of animals even exotic pets and considers her dog her best friend!

Anita is a cat and dog owner, a Scottish fold tomcat, Leroy and Golden Doodle puppy Lindy, and has worked in pet shops and raised exotics. She has also had horses and birds as well as hedgehogs and lizards. As a retired hairstylist, Anita wanted something to keep her busy and loves taking care of other folks fur babies. Anita is always the Mama for every animal that she takes care of.

Carolyn was among the first to join our team. She often fosters dogs awaiting their forever home. Her dog Cricket is a "foster fail" who is a precious terrier mix that Carolyn couldn't part with.

Twan is an elementary school teacher by day and loves taking care of pets in her free time!  She has been pet sitting for over 5 years and has had the pleasure of taking care of many cats, dogs, turtles, koi fish and even chickens! She makes new friends each and every time and loves spending time with them!

Megan is a Pre-Veterinary Medicine major at Lees-McRae college with a minor in Wildlife Rehabilitation. She has always had a passion for animals and has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. Megan also has a cat named Midnight, her best friend!

Currently she is a proud pet parent to an 8 year old Pomeranian named Luna and a 4 year old Maine Coon cat named Blanche. She has a passion for the arts, especially music and theater, and is a student of Anthropology.

Allan
Pet Sitter

Allan is a longtime broadcaster who has always loved animals, especially dogs. His show airs nationally and was heard locally on 99.7 WRFX the FOX for 17 years. Allan is best known for his weekly shows with the prominent rock stars, comedians and high profile guests in the field of science and technology. Many of Allan’s shows deal with animal behavior and health and he has produced dozens of shows about our furry friends.  His animal experts include prominent animal behavior experts like Temple Grandin, Dr. Marty Becker “America’s Vet” from Good Morning America and Dr. Oz. Now that Allan is only doing one of the two different shows he has produced for 12 years, he has a little extra time. Barbara takes care of his dogs and cats and Allan decided that he would be happy to join the team.  Allan is Pet CPR and First Aid certified.

Originally from Maryland, Kristen moved to Charlotte in 2004. From an early age, she has always been a pet lover; whether furry, feathered or scaly. She worked at an Animal Hospital for her first paid job in High School and growing up, had a cat that lived to be 22 years old. Now a few years away from retirement, she enjoys working full time and being able to pet sit for others part-time. She currently has two senior dogs, Sasha a lab-mix and Radar a mini-Schnauzer. They give her much joy and entertainment.

Susan is a Charlotte native and has been married for 28 years. She has a 23 yr old son and works for Atrium Health as a Financial Coordinator in the department of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She has two rescue dogs, a boxer mix, Jaxon and a dachshund mix, Reis. She joined PPPS in May 2021 and has met so many wonderful people and pets.
Valerie

Valerie currently has 3 adopted pets: 2 dogs and a cat. She has worked as an employee for the Humane Society of Charlotte and also Maricopa County Animal Care and Control in Phoenix, Arizona as the foster care/rescue coordinator. Valerie has volunteered at an animal shelter in every city she has lived in since 1999 including the Jerusalem SPCA in the West Bank from 2013-2015. Currently, she volunteers at Charlotte-Mecklenburg ACC.

Lawanda is originally from Louisiana and has lived in Charlotte since 1994. She is a mother of two boys and one fur baby. As a CMS teacher assistant in Pre-K, Lawanda is passionate about children and pets.

Christy is originally from Buffalo, NY and has lived in Charlotte since 2004. She is a longtime CMS Kindergarten teacher who enjoys taking care of animals in her spare time. She prides herself on building relationships with clients and providing lots of love, attention, and care for their beloved fur babies.

Grey has always been an animal lover and currently works at North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital in boarding and wants to eventually become a vet tech.
Minty
Pet Sitter

Minty loves all animals. She grew up with all kinds of pets - even pet mice. Minty recently retired from National Gypsum Company - where she worked as a manager for over 27 years. She now has more time to spend with her little dog Heidi - her third rescue who appears to be a cross between a Chihuahua and a Corgi. Minty loves to read and go for a nice long walks with Heidi  - who loves the walks and also riding in the car with her head out the window.
